KcalTap Health and Safety Disclaimer

Effective August 7, 2026

General wellness—not medical care

KcalTap is intended only for adults 18 and older who want to record and review general nutrition, activity, body, and training information. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, monitor, or prevent disease or injury and cannot provide emergency assistance.

What KcalTap may provide

  • Food, serving, calorie, macro, fiber, water, weight, workout, and body-data recording.
  • Estimated calorie targets, activity credit, expenditure, body trends, strength trends, and estimated one-repetition maximums.
  • Optional Apple Health activity summaries when you grant permission.
  • Optional reminders, routines, synchronization, progress summaries, and currently described subscription features.
  • Optional AI-generated general-wellness suggestions when the secured service is available.
  • General educational training and recovery ideas that remain subordinate to clearance and restrictions supplied by a qualified professional.

What KcalTap does not provide

  • Medical diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, clinical monitoring, medical clearance, or individualized professional judgment.
  • Emergency response or real-time monitoring. KcalTap cannot contact emergency services for you.
  • A substitute for a physician, registered dietitian, licensed mental-health professional, physical therapist, athletic trainer, or qualified coach.
  • Allergen verification, contamination detection, medication-interaction screening, or proof that a food or diet is safe.
  • Real-time exercise supervision, form assessment, injury evaluation, an individualized rehabilitation plan, return-to-sport clearance, or a recommendation to attempt a true one-repetition maximum.
  • Guaranteed accuracy, weight change, performance improvement, health outcome, storage, synchronization, or service availability.

Food, nutrition, and allergy safety

Food database, barcode, restaurant, serving, and manually entered values can be incomplete, outdated, mislabeled, mismatched, or wrong. Always compare packaged-food entries with the current package label and manufacturer information. Recipes, ingredients, and manufacturing practices can change without appearing immediately in a database.

Never rely on KcalTap to decide whether a food is free of an allergen, cross-contact, contamination, or an ingredient restricted by a medical or religious diet. When the consequences of an error could be serious, contact the manufacturer and an appropriate clinician before consuming the food.

Calorie and macro targets are estimates. Do not use KcalTap for aggressive restriction, prolonged fasting, dehydration, purging, misuse of medication or supplements, or other unsafe weight-control behavior.

Professional guidance may be necessary

Consult an appropriate clinician before relying on calorie targets, activity credit, body trends, or exercise guidance when pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, recovering from surgery or injury, managing diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, an eating disorder or disordered-eating history, taking medication affected by diet or exercise, or following a medically prescribed diet.

Exercise and training safety

You are responsible for choosing appropriate exercises, loads, equipment, surroundings, spotting, supervision, recovery, and progression. A prior performance, routine, estimated maximum, or calculated calorie value does not prove that an activity is safe today.

When a qualified professional has cleared a return to training, KcalTap may help discuss broad exercise categories, conservative programming ideas, and tracking strategies. The professional’s stage, restrictions, symptom rules, and progression criteria remain controlling. KcalTap cannot verify that clearance or decide whether a particular exercise, load, range of motion, or return-to-sport step is safe for you.

Stop exercise and seek appropriate care for chest pain, fainting, severe or unusual shortness of breath, sudden weakness or numbness, a severe allergic reaction, a suspected serious injury, or symptoms that feel urgent. Pain, illness, heat, fatigue, dehydration, medication, and changing health conditions can make a previously completed workout unsafe.

AI and automated outputs

KcalTap Coach and automated calculations may misunderstand information, omit context, or provide incorrect suggestions. Review every output before acting. AI is not a diagnosis, prescription, clearance, or individualized medical plan.

The coach may answer general educational questions about training around a past injury or clinician-cleared recovery. It must not replace or change an individualized rehabilitation plan, diagnose a setback, set an exact medical progression or return-to-sport timeline, provide medication dosing, verify allergen safety, or override a clinician. Do not use it for active emergencies, pregnancy-specific medical care, eating-disorder treatment, or instructions to train through concerning pain.

Body composition, activity, and calorie estimates

Body-composition devices and formulas can vary with hydration, food intake, time of day, equipment, positioning, and measurement error. Step-based energy, active-energy credit, maintenance calories, and weight-change projections are estimates and can differ substantially from actual energy needs or outcomes. Focus on longer trends and seek professional interpretation when health decisions depend on accuracy.

Subscriptions and future features

A subscription purchases access to the currently described software features for that plan. It does not purchase medical services or guaranteed results. Planned, beta, future, or experimental features may change, be delayed, or never be released and should not be the basis of a purchase.
